NNNEEERRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrroooo
ooooooooMMMMMMMMMMMMUH. All you "new this, new that" guys need to realize that this puppy is a classic, which, even though you can't see much, looks like it's being well maintained.. this aircraft is 50 years old!.. it's a time machine, back when plastic was a cuss word (jk of course), but seriously, cut it some slack. our FBO has a 59 B95.. it's a piece of history, it's got its quirks. You've got a nice bird, i'd fly it, old or new.

Ned to change the gear reducer to a lower ratio....it will retract faster. You can find these as different gear-motors.

Especially considering wind drag and thrust and such. Agreed. Although these Beech's are classics, the LG can't get you down from an all around great plane.

on a new beech it takes like 3 seconds..

I did not say that the gears won't go up and down without battery charger hooked up. In fact, gears go up and down many times as you say. But the maintenance manuals tell you to hook up an external power supply. It helps to run the gear motor at constant force each time.

Not true. My 68 E33A can transition the gear many times on battery alone.
it was lifting alright at first but it sounded like she had no more power to get it the rest of the way up?

The electric gear motor and battery have to work the hardest when wheels approach the horizontal (up) position.
