This was the first song composed by Hridaynath Mangeshkar sung by his sister Asha Bhosle. The poet Raja Badhe uses metaphor of a beautiful woman for the Moon, instead of Moon being a metaphor for a woman, which is the norm in Indian poetry.

PS: Smily = Correct spelling Smiley or Smiling

  • How dreamily apt, are your images, & wow what mystery lies in these poignant lyrics @2:42 !

"Ge Nilaawanti Kashala Zhaakisi Kaayaa Tujhi ?

Paahu De Meghaawin Saundarya Tujhe Mokale" !

Depends whom its coming from these words can be full of intrigue OR sweet complaint in disguise, sure a beloved might love to alleviate :)

If only the communication between two hearts weren't SO ambiguous as this sublime piece of sweet intrigue. !

Aah, but then, C'est La Vie !

    Precious song, and Upload.

  • @SJisBack " zaakishi could mean hiding or covering, both meanings are correct."

I see, but on reading your translation @2:42 n what I wrote in my expression of my poetic perception of it I felt I shouldn't leave the slightest possibility of my perception being misconstrued by any viewer likely to misinterpret my words due to my lingual limitation. :(

Connotations n nuances can vary drastically in words of similar nature.

Your uploads are too pure for even misconceptions.

Not on my watch. Lol :)

  • Great Job SJ! your collection is growing and great!!! keep it up!!!

  • nice !

  • @RituPMToMusic2011 zaakishi could mean hiding or covering, both meanings are correct.

  • CORRECTION: Because my comment reflected my ORIGINAL impression of the translation of "Ge Nilaawanti Kashaala Zhaakisi Kaayaa Tujhi?" @bemused321 @ 2:42 to her "hiding" herself, & NOT "covering" herself, as per the LITERAL translation here @SJisBack, the "meaning" & connotation of what I wrote, CHANGES.

NO wrong connotation was intended, or alluded. I simply meant the thought in these poetic lyrics seem a sweet complaint, a beloved could easily alleviate by *coming out of hiding*, to meet. :)

  • Oh ! :) Am SO delighted you brought this BEAUTIFUL song I've long been drawn to since uploaded by a fav uploader of keen musical insight n sharp video creativity @bemused321 like you, & I must've made him chuckle at my exuberant enthusiasm for repeated comments I couldn't help posting on each revisit ! :) Phew ! That was a mouthful.LOL ! :)

(All that festive feast n thankful joy of being with family here refilled that enthusiasm that doesn't go away too far for too long. Thankfully ! :)
