This is footage of my newest bipolar Tesla coil. The secondary is 19 inches of 23 gauge heavy build magnet wire on a 5 inch cardboard form. The primary consists of 12 turns of stranded 12 gauge wire on an 8 inch cardboard form. The frame is 3/4 inch PVC tubing. Power is supplied by a 7,500 volt Allanson neon sign transformer. The capacitor bank is 18 Leyden jars of my own design, total about 8 nF. The spark gap is a single gap pressurized by a small vacuum cleaner. Arc length in this video is 10 inches. Max arc length obtained so far, 14 inches.

  • Thanks. It's been easy to scale up or down the tubing size to accommodate different sized coils.
