If your summary is correct, then my reply would be "LOL."

The meltdown occurred primarily because our government shirked its responsibility to properly regulate the financial and corporate sectors. Regulatory protections which were put in place after the Great Depression (and intended to prevent its recurrence) were systematically stripped away over the last four decades.

It's disingenuous and absurd to blame the scenario on "entitlement mentality."
