  • two conductors for this piece? OMG it's pathetic! The choir is very weak and the sopran is false...

  • Hi mazsi!

I guess if you consider the sopranos good or bad is a quite subjective thing (look at the comment below)

As for the two conductors though: This was done simply because of the layout of the location. It would have either ment to put the conductor very high and make it impossible for the chorus to look at him while looking into their sheets or leaving him where he is now, impossible for the orchestra to see. So in order to make sure everybody sees the conductor we just put in a 2. one

  • The sopran is false, off key in this piece, that's a fact, simply objective.

I also sing in a choir and I've already sang several type of stages and podiums. I even don't understand why the orchestra up and the choir down here? Sorry but this podium doesn't look so high.

And finally this piece is so beautiful but also very easy, doesn't need two conductors.

  • the choir was added for just 4 pieces. it was a concert of the orchestra. therefore they are on the main podium.

anyway, i respect your opinion. and i may add: neither the sopranos nor anybody else on this stage is perfect since all of them only do this out of fun and as a hobby.

nevertheless, i believe that your tone of voice ("OMG, pathetic") is not a way to give constructive criticsm but more a way to talk down on people you personally feel superior to because of your more advanced skills.

  • Maybe not the best performance from a technical standpoint, but a good performance because it dodges the problem that usually ruins this piece: it's not too slow, and it's not "dead."

The words are a rather earnest prayer that resolves in a statement of faith. Regardless of whether the singers believe it, that message is more "present" in this performance than some posted here on this site.

  • sang this in HS... was my favorite piece of music that i got to sing. learning the pronunciation of the french was the hardest part... when you're the one on stage, its impossible to hear all the harmonies and melodies come together.. this was a real treat.

  • How about you all shut the fuck up and LISTEN to the song instead of leaving stupid ass comments like this one!! :)

  • As someone who also has had quite a bit of choir experience, particularly with this song which I did in a summer workshop with college professors, it is by no means an easy song. If you add in the fact that the choir shown in the video isn't necessarily a professional choir, but sing for the fun and beauty of it, this performance is absolutely amazing.

  • @Olympicgardens The simple fact that people here ARE comparing them to professionals tells you they are pretty close. At least some people got fooled here....

  • trays oh?

  • @baracine

    verbe égal au très ZZZooo...loool

  • look at

Maîtrise de Nîmes Jean Racine.(you tube)

Don't say: "verbe égal au très Z-haut !!!" (loool)

  • @voices4youDotCom However, it is a way for uninformed and unimportant people to feel important.

  • schöön ich singe alt darin

  • @voices4youDotCom

i think there is a way to sound perfect on the stage even thou the artists do it just for fun....
