  • I was a student of Wayne's from 1973 to 1978. Wow! As great a painter that he is, he was an even better teacher! So inspiring. Always gave honest but helpful critiques!

  • My mom went to his class in 1967 at Davis. She still remembers how great and down to earth he was.

  • "work...as a kind of paradise".........that is an idea I have to work to get my head around, but I like it.

  • When I grow up, I want to be Wayne Thiebaud!

  • I am so envious of anyone who could have taken classes with Thiebaud. What a great opportunity. The videos i have seen with him speaking even at 89 he's vibrant and articulate, expressive, and surprising self-effacing. it makes me so glad i saw the show at San Jose Musem of Art today. His show is there til 7/4/10 and it is wonderful.
