Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation announces the introduction of V28™ lithium ion battery technology after nine years of research and development. A revolution in the cordless tool category, the 28 volt battery delivers increased power and up to twice the run time of traditional 18 volt models, yet the battery weighs slightly less. This breakthrough technology allows Milwaukee to introduce new tools like the world's first cordless band saw powerful enough for every day professional use. The V28 line of tools also includes a hammer-drill, circular saw, Sawzall® reciprocating saw, impact wrench, work light and battery charger.

  • I talked to the engineers at Milwaukee and asked them why they did not build a 28 volt lithium ion impact wrench.

They told me that they did but it was TOO powerful and had so much torque it would rip the heads off of the screws!

So, in the end they had to back it down to an 18 volt just to make it work.

  • The best thing about the 28 volt batteries is the warranty!

2 years or 800 charges! One cell went dead in mine after using the battery fort 18 months. I took it to my local shop and they checked the computer chip in the battery to see how many charges it had and when was the first charge. I got a FREE replacement.

Also the batteries are prorated for 2000 charges or 5 years. If your batteries dies at 1000 charges and they are over 2 years old, Milwaukee will pay half the cost of a new battery!

  • M18 is the new shit man, i got the 2611 drill, has 650 in.lbs of torque!!, The batteries laast allllllll day and the next!!, There is a reason milwaukee the only one to offer 5 year warranty, guys i work with all use dewalt and havent really even used milwaukee until i bring my stuff out and then they always ask me to go grab MY saw or MY drill

  • Indeed, i just bought the V28 sawzall and V28 Rotary hammer last week to go with my other V28s (the hammer drill and the 115mm grinder) and these tools are great.

    Highly recomended.

Anyone concerned about batteries, i bought my V28 hammer drill almost 2 years ago, and my batteries are still pretty much the same as when they were new. When i bought the other V28 tools i bought them without the batteries or charger cause 2 batteries is plenty.

  • nah different fitting.

  • Not interchangeable, but these tools are crazy. I have the sawzall and it has power like a corded one.

  • no im sorry they do not. ridgid has interchangeable batteries

  • does anyone know if the 28v and the 18 v milwaukee batteries are interchangeable?

  • So you make them, so what? Why are you here playing around?? GET BACK TO WORK!

  • I make those li-ion cells.
