Kyouhei Kawabata began DJing in 2001. He has experimented with abstract, dub, drum and bass, folk music as well as other genres. With a smoking song selection, he has made so many mix CDs in collaboration with various artists that they are beyond count. He later made the change to MPC where his uncanny ability earned him a cult following, especially amongst the dance music circle.

He is currently honing his MAX/MSP skills and DJ work in collaboration with other artists at many live venues, with an enphasis om improvisation and spontaneity including of course, his mai stomping groound, 'Insanity'. Feild recordings with jazz, folk and environmental samplings are disassembled and then reconstructed compliment live performance. His studies of Shamanism, folklore and religion have contributed to his original interpretation of sounds essential to human nature which pervades his music.

2001年頃からDJを開始。ABSTRACT、DUB、DRUM&BASS、民族音楽など、一貫したスモーキーな選曲で、様々なアーティストと共演、本人も数えきれない­ほど大量のMIX CDを製作。
その後MPCを使ったプレイに以降し、卓越したセンスでダンスミュージックサイドからもカルトな人気を得る。
現在は本拠地[INSANITY]を始め、様々な場所で、DJと平行してMAX/MSPによる即興性を重視したLIVEを展開し様々なアーティストとコラボレーションして­いる。LIVEではフィールドレコーディングやJAZZ、民族音楽、環境音楽等からのサンプリングを解体、再構築し、シャーマニズムや、民俗学、宗教学、などを独自の解釈­で 昇華し「本来人間が聴くべき"音"」を作りつづけている。
