@quontis09 As far as we know yes, but there has been some speculation that he was killed. I read something a while ago that does make it you think about it and sounds like it was set up.

@ivan764607 They were actually recorded about the same time in the summer of 1967. Barry Gordy didn't like Stevie's version at first but it has since gone on to be the most recognized and popular version of this song. HTH =)

Yes it was his live and because he had to leave the group it becames his death but I think he is murdered if I read the information on Wikipedia.
