Occupy Portland - Cleanup interrupted by POLICE VIOLENCE!

Sunday morning, after five thousand citizens came out the night before to protect the occupiers from eviction, the morning light left only a few hundred. Some stayed through the night to clean up the park, others deciding what to do next. Then the Police moved in. You'll see the POLICE HITTING PEOPLE with BATONS and the citizenry standing defiantly, asserting their First Amendment rights. Later, a thousand or more came once again to support the occupiers.

Early in the film we see a man signing for the deaf; towards the end the same man - Justin Bridges - being brutalized by the police while signing, followed by the crowd screaming for medics. Justin is now confined to a wheel chair after being zip tied, yanked around, strangled & laid out on the cold sidewalk for 1-2 hours. Wed Dec 8 at 2pm he addresses a City Council meeting organized to address police brutality. Please come show your support for this brave hero and stand up for nonviolence.

I know I'm supposed to be shocked by the "police brutality", but I'm really not. If you're at the front line of a protest screaming and pushing and pulling against the police, what do you expect? I agree they need to be more careful and much more restrained about swinging their clubs. At the same time, when the police are pulling someone over to their side for arrest, the protesters need to just let them. The more you resist arrest, the more force is used.
