A common misconception that people seem to have is that a tiger in captivity is tame or that they are friendly. Working around Tigers is a pod cast from 2007 in which which we went along side with long time former Big Cat Rescue animal caretaker Brian, as he explained a little on what it's like to work around tigers. Like people, tigers each have their own unique personalities. In this pod cast we will learn just how extreme some can be. Tigers are a very beautiful but deadly animal that are being wiped off our planet at an alarming rate.

  • how does the "click" work? what does it do with the animals?

  • @horsiegal13 Good question! The click is a "bridge" between the cat doing the correct move like "sit" "up" "down" "paw" etc... and the actual treat which is usually a small chunk of red meat. These are all natural moves and enables us to observe the cat, so if they injure themselves we can click and treat the cats and get a better look at them so we can decide what to do :)

  • What I think is that the big cats that you work with are "as tame as a wild animal can be" in other words they tolerate humans only because they can't get close enough to harm them.

  • @CynderMizuki Tigers or any species of wild cat will never be tame and they can definitely get close enough to injure us, we are just well trained and well aware of how quickly their mood can change!

  • do they know their names or will they respond if you call their name?

  • @thefabulousone123 They respond when you talk to them but if they know their names or not is questionable :)

  • Tigers or any other animal don't deserve to be behind bars, but if we as people try to educate eachother on saving tigers and other animals, the world would be a better place. I'm proud to say that there are people like me in the world that will dedicate their lives to teaching people about animals. I will dedicate my whole life to doing just that.

  • @BigCatRescue thats neat! thanks!!

  • I hope the staff there know how fortunate they are being able to work near and with those beautiful

cats. And I'm thankful Bic Cat Rescue is here for them. Before I die I want to visit.

  • I WANT A TIGER SOOOO BAD

  • evil man that steals my poop :D

  • When bangali went on his hind paws.. the size..jesus..

  • You can't touch Mr Jingles... LOL.

  • My kitty's mood can change all fast too, it's just that she's small and can't hurt me the way a tiger can.

I think only an idiot would believe they can change a cat. ANY cat.

I LIKE cats for that very reason.
