@iMPERiOUS and the thing with nicole that i was arguing is she doesn't even look remotely "asian". she is such a conglomeration of so many races that her race is unidentifiable. she doesn't have to deal with that whole " you're not as beautiful because you look asian" mentality that a lot society has.

@iMPERiOUS it's like being jewish isn't just a religion. it's not necessarily a "race", but a culture. i have jewish friends who only identify with it as the culture they're family raised them in. they don't view it as a religious affiliation because some of them are agnostic or atheists.

@iMPERiOUS same goes with an asian child who has been adopted by non-asian parents. unless the parents raise them to be aware, they usually don't know the true meaning of growing up within that culture. ..yes they deal with discrimination because of the way they look, but they're not asian in the sense of culture.

@iMPERiOUS yes yes. if they grew up within the culture...i understand that argument. however, most don't. many, most actually, "halfies" have an asian parent who has completely assimilated and do not raise their children to be aware of their asian roots.

@rome181987 ahahah thats interesting hehe in a way it makes sense with english language cause when you say flip, it means you flip something upside down hehe idk if that makes sense hehe but is that in tagalog...sorry if i butchered that sometimes i also feel bad when i forget that its pronounced ta-ga-log and then instead say tag-along...soo embaressing hehe

@jaiadore I agree with what you said about Asian/AA not being embraced in mainstream media, we're certainly making progress as you see more and more API performers in movies and on stage.

BUT what you said about mixed-Asians disgusts me. MANY mixed Asian people struggle with identity problems not being accepted by their respective communities. Just because someone isn't fully Asian makes them non-Asian? No.

If they grew up with in the culture, they are just as Asian as most.
