Our latest exploits in the hills sees us heading up Great Gable in the english Lake District. The more observant viewer may have noticed that the date at the beginning should be APRIL 12th and not May as it says! Doh!
Absolutely wonderful. Gable looks so inviting when you stand and look up to her might from the banks of Stye Head Tarn. Although formidable in her stance, the challenge has to be on for it is just too much to turn around and walk back down to the comforts of Seathwaite or Wasdale at the other end of the valley. After doing all UK's tallest peaks, Gable is definitely pencilled in for this coming summer. Fantastic vid and can you recommend a more easier ascent than the western flanks?
the west of this mountain is not to be underestimated. I made my girlfriend descend from the west with me and she ended up in tears on the pretty nasty scree.
Wow! really made you appreciate a cup of tea and a nice hot bath when you got back, I bet! Very different hiking conditions from what I'm used to (desert).
Awesome vid mate, did Gable last year but done my ankle and could not find climbers traverse from the west, going again later this year coming from Esk Hause, any signs for the traverse to look for? cheers mate

Beautiful, but looks a tad dangerous (as well as cold). You're making me nervous. Need you to stay in one piece. :)
