A young high school student, Jill Johnson is babysitting one night for a physician and his wife. During the evening, a mysterious phone caller begins taunting her. Sometimes he simply says nothing, other times he asks, 'Have you checked the children?'. Jill eventually becomes frightened for her safety and calls the police. The police successfully trace his next call and discover something horrifying - the calls are being made from INSIDE THE HOUSE! Police are immediately dispatched and Jill narrowly escapes into the arms of Lt. Clifford. Officers soon discover that the children had been savagely murdered hours ago by the caller, who had been using a phone the parents never had disconnected. 7 years later, the murderer escapes from a mental hospital and resumes his demented mission - this time going after Jill's husband, Steven - and their children. And Clifford - now a P.I. hired by the father of the murdered children - is also hunting the murderer...

  • the girl on the phone is a fucking bitch. carol kane really acts this first scene out well, not just fear but adolescence too

  • @jdriscoll2000 You mean her "friend" Nancy? I definitely agree. She says "I didn't think it was right 'cause you *were* my friend" and Jill is like, uh "You ARE my friend", followed by a depressing "Yeah, I guess so". I also hate the very end of the call, "Yeah, bye", in a sarcastic tone. Who needs a friend like that?!

  • Wow. The video description is basically one big spoiler. Might wanna change it a little. Other than that thanks for uploading.

  • @TheKittiesKilll Hm. I don't mean any offense but I'm surprised you didn't already know what's in the description. If you don't mind my asking, what part was spoiled for you?

  • Is Carol Kane deaf, because she speaks kind of strange ( no offence).

  • @1875HIBEESFC That's just her natural voice. The irony is that it's refreshing to hear her real voice during a serious role. She's so often typecast as fairies, airheads, etc., which call for her to use the same lame idiotic dumbbell voice.

  • love the scary music.

  • her friend's a bitch

  • @musicfan12647 TheKittiesKilll is right, you did kinda spoil the whole course of events throghout the flick.

  • first 22 minutes of this film widely regarded as one of the most scariest scenes in cinema history

  • Next december I'm surely watching "Black Christmas".

  • First act is super freaky, but the rest of the film is not so good. Still, much better than the remake!

  • @musicfan12647 Why would that surprise you? I had an idea as to what would happen having seen the remake but I never saw the original version of this film so I thought I'd read the description.

But for someone who hasn't seen either films, I'd get rid of how the call is found to be coming from inside, the kids getting killed, etc. You sort of give away the entire beginning.
