  • super-clever lady, she was....

  • @CapnQuixote1 this is ridiculously concise haha. Your "in-a-nutshell" analysis actually opened this up for me.

  • Helen Adam has lost her mind!!!

  • Is is a description that takes no sides, but describes the junkie's emotional state.

  • this is a great piece - the contrast of the graphic, kind of harrowing words and the cheerful, upbeat tune that has been put to them is what makes it. it's like, simultaneosly, a celebration and a mourning of the freewheeling sadness and epic excess of the junkie lifestyle, so it doesn't really comdemn or condone drug use. reminds me of William S. Burroughs stuff, in a way. This is one of the best things on the Poetry in Motion movie.

  • i think she's describing her junkie brother. in the end she says so. and i also believe she is trying to describe how the junkie is spending his life finding his fix until the day he dies. and the homelessness and drug houses all have rats and roaches that seem to follow him. i love how its almost like a marching song.

  • quite clever! whimsical and yet, very cutting.

  • I'm not sure if she's glorifying drug usage or being sarcastic.

  • I LOVE HELEN!

  • OH GOD YES
