Benson was in his late teens when he did this I think. He did a "kiddie lead" record in the early 50's when he was 12. This is quite a rare record. A mint copy would sell for somewhere around $100-150. My copy was $40 and it is nowhere near mint.
@PJDooWop Tks...PJ. I thought as much on the rarity/value WOW! Do you have a way of playing the flip side song? Love to hear what that sounds like. Also, I was checking out the net on Benson Wiki Bio and they don't even mention his tenure with the altairs or the amy discog. That seems strange as does the members on this record. I see another Benson on the label. I dunno..but maybe a brother to George? Interesting stuff when doing internet research. Sort of mystery fact finding..lol
I can post the flip. I've been planning on posting the other side anyway.. It's called "Groovie Time." I'm not sure why there's no mention of this in his bio, but then again there's no mention of the solo record he did in the early 50's either
Nice Vibe!...
Benson must have been just a kid at this time. The guitar is definitely not Jazz Style and his singing sounds very young.
I'm almost hesitant to even ask this but does
anyone know how rare this record is or the value?

I do remember Don K. Reed playing this one a few times on "Doo Wop Shop", but I didn't know George Benson was in this group.

I'm surprised more people don't know
