banjo lesson number 3 , first out take

I figured that someone might learn something from see me trying to get it right, and it could be down right inspirational. It's not easy learnin', so I figure if I goof up, it just shows that it's okay to goof up..

I like this but you are just not going slow enough on the first round... the repetition is key and if you could break this down slow i think it would help the video is to short. I know you are trying to help but if you could explain it a bit more that would really help.... maybe i am just a slow boy from GA but im getting lost here

that's hard to go faster and faster !! but i train a lot ! I don't go fast enough to hit the strings, but i guess that takes a lot more training to play so fast !

i am not sure to place my right hand exactly as i have to, to hit the strings with my finger nail, and i don't succeed in hitting the skin of the banjo with my thumb... so difficult to find !!

thanks for the lessons, hard to find a teacher in France !

Keep in mind, the number one point of all of this is to have fun.. If you're havin' fun you're doing it right! If now, just slow down and get silly and play with it. There's no rush! You've got the rest of your life to play with this, so enjoy it.. hahahaha.

so the lessons are about being able to hit the alt strings right? you like the hackensaws? if not check em out! the hackensaw boys look out will point you in the right direction! How do you learn to hold your hand!!!?

Got the ol Slingerlad off ebay month or so ago: elbow grease and tung oil, greared tuners(friction tuners - yowie!), repositioned the tone dowel and shimmed up the neck so the stingsaren't 3 inches high, fasioned a 5th strng nut from a lil brass screw and Im ready to go! You taught me how to flail and I taught myself a lil song that's simple enought for a duffer like me: Frere Jaques! Hahaha! - French banjo music - and I just saw Lulu's coment - how apres poe! You're a great teacher! Thanks!

It just take practice, and don't worry about where you hand is and stuff, just bang on the banjo, and after a while you'll find your own way.... Good luck with it.
