@territorialpisser But Toadboner said "they're very similar" and that's true. Jose Gonzalez is the closest thing I've found to Nick Drake (who is, for what it's worth, my all-time favorite singer-songwriter). I'd go so far as to say some of Jose's songs like "The Nest" are as good as some of Nick's songs. of course, no one will ever replace Nick Drake, but this guy deserves so much respect as he's better than 90% of today's acoustic/folk singer-songwriters.

José said in an interview that the album which this song is a part of is inspired by the foolishness of the human race. He also said that he got alot of inspiration from people he admired like Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins, both of which is outspoken atheists. José also have an education in some sort of biology/chemistry science. I'm convinced he is an atheist and that he is trying to tell people how fucked up religion is.

it does seem as if he's singing about/against religion. "you were programmed a long time ago, your story's so old and your explanations" and "even though you mean well, most of the time, you made a delusion and created -" whatever he sings the songs amazing!
