Seisan is thought to be one of the oldest kata quite spread among other Naha-te schools. Other ryuha also practice this kata or other versions of it (i.e. Shorin[ji]-ryu). Here performed is the Naha-te style by Alexander Garcia

  • @NewEnglandBudo sure but keep a keen eye as it may seem different silat has both influences from okinwaw and direct contact with china

  • @kaindrg I cannot speak of the silat as I have no experience with that. Can you point me to a video?

  • @NewEnglandBudo kk cuz my view is that the mechanics are general the same between southern style silat and okinawan Te

  • @kaindrg This version is the Miyagi Seisan that came to Okinawa after the Naha Seisan. Not all kobudo came from Fukien province. Many of the Okinawan budo is indigenous to Okinawa. See the older Seisan by searching Kyudokan Seisan

  • @NewEnglandBudo wait are okinwan kobudo strictly fukienese styles

  • very nice. i like ur videos. and seisan is an awesome kata. i know this seisan and the shorin ryu seisan from when i used to take isshinryu who had it in their system of katas. now im strictly about goju ryu karate do : )

  • Not bad, but the Sesan kata of Goju & Uechi ryu may come from the same area of Fukien Province there area many differences. Similarly, The Shorin Ryu Sesan may have been introduced to Okinawa before the aforementioned. Check out the clips I sent u. You will see a few minor problems
