  • very interesting :) but when are we expected to see ruby 2.0 approximately?

  • @nsakic Which is actually a pretty good thing when it comes to Ruby and Objective-C compatibility, especially now with things like MacRuby and RubyCocoa.

  • but Matz english really needs improvement XD actually im fine with him just talk in Japanese and put an english subtitle

  • im seriously concerned about ruby's future, and asian, especially japanese communities should give more support

  • @johnmair As of now, February 24, 2013 is the planned release date. It's also the 20th anniversary of Ruby's conception, when the name was decided on and prior to any code being written. There are way more references to this on the Japanese web (search for ルビー 2013年2月24日), but it seems like a reasonable enough assumption.

  • @johnmair probably a few years away - 1.9.2 is the current version. 1.8.6 is the current 1.8.x so 1.9 will probably have a few more versions before 2.0 starts to come out

  • @johnmair christmas ;)

  • Ruby is going with Objective-C style method calls, very interesting!
