  • The magnificent Hazel O'Connor. Puts female artists of today to shame.

  • @hayabusabart They were never "yankee type TV shows" Talent shows have been broadcast since atleast the 1950's that I know of.

In 1948, talent search shows Ted Mack's Original Amateur Hour then ,Opportunity knocks with Hughie Green and the later "New Faces" which started in 1973 have all done the talent show to death and everytime its accused of stereotyping showbusines and destroying originality.

Cowell isn't original nor are the complaints about shows like his.

  • This is good old "real" music that you can have a dance too.. not like the boring sterile manufactured rubbish of today.. eat your heart out Simon Cowell.. you and your X factor cronies have destroyed all this brilliant originality with your yankee type TV shows.. created to make you rich and the rest of us the poorer..

  • That guy on keyboards was in icehouse i think...

  • Splendid post, what a great song. Get those knees up!

  • Wasn`t it great then? Saw her on GMTV recently with this clip on, I thought I know that song. Found it first time on here. There was so much more going on, late 70s early 80s, original songs, Lene Lovich great too. Bring it all back!
