Ironically, the US were the ones who originally supported the Taliban and helped them become powerful.

in fact, the US supported all mujaheddin groups there, including Taliban. After the pull out of the USSR, these groups started fighting among themselves and Pakistan became the patron of Taliban. The fault of the US was that it remained indifferent at that time.

@madmanmemo I am glad that you feel that way and respect your feelings. But i hope you know that Taliban was not the first to destroy Bamiyan. Muslim invaders had destroyed a large part of it in long ago.

It is the ideology and not the people.

Almost all religions teach that they are better than other religions: Christianity, Judaism, Islam... except for Buddhism, Taoism, or other eastern religions.

Judaism: Baba Mezia 114a-114b: "Non-Jews are not human. Only Jews are human"
I can't find any for Islam or Christianity but i know they exist.

Even so i agree with you saying that they could have done more.

Islam teach that Christians and Jews are "people of the book". But we all know how many Islamic country treat non-Muslims.
