  • i came to Kentwell at easter and i thought it was fantastic. All the people taking part were brilliant and very clever when they spoke to you as they talked the way they used to do in old English - excellent.

  • I know exactly what you mean !! ..... I asked one of the page boys who plays skittles in the film ( part one or two ?? ) where everybody who took part in the recreation came from ( ie locals or professional actors / actressese ) .... His answer was " I know not what you mean sire, we were all born in the manor , and we all live and work in the manor "

It was a perfect answer .....

  • I should jump in my TARDIS & go back there sometime. I'm not that far off.

  • I took part in this recreation. Was great fun, would love to do it again.

  • im going to the next tudor recreation at kentwell. i went with my mum to the ww2 recreation and that was really good, and from this video i see this will be even better.

  • We went to Kentwell this summer (2007) and it was wonderful. I had Tudor conversations with several re-enactors and they were entirely in character. Found myself drifting into the speech patterns too. The costumes were beautiful, the activities convincing and there was a dreamlike sense of actually dipping into in the past. Thank you for the film - loved the geese!

  • oooo and that year was 1569 not 1578 sorry

  • thats me playing the lute!

for those who want to know we are not payed, make all our own costumes and are given no training (I think there is a short leaflet on speech but not all read it)

  • We was all wondering if it was actors who got paid for it, but when we tried asking one of the maids she said exactly the same to me. I reckon they do it as a hobbie, but it must be hard work trying to speak in old english. They must have been taught.

  • Definetly needs a sound track but very good otherwise. Where was the dairy and the Cott though? Lovely final glimpse of Bella at the end there.
