@TheDrummer1984 Well, YEAH ya' should've! You came about the same distance as I did and I didn't even leave until almost 1:30 in the afternoon, you could've made it! I'd just had surgery 2 weeks before, I wasn't sure if I should do it and didn't finally decide until late that morning. 3 hours later I'm on the road! Put down over 1000 miles before I even took a break around 5:30 in the morrning...didn't even know I had it in me, lol! Guess I was like a kid at Christmas, ha, ha!
@flyurway Wow man thats quite a trip... I actually drove down to Georgia that Wednesday night from Niagara Falls, Ontario. I should have kept going and watched the launch.
That sound is awesome! I was in Titusville (12 mi away). Determined I'd see a shuttle launch before they were done, I loaded up my truck at the last minute and left upstate NY with less than 28 hours to launch and got there by 10 am! Damn, spent $600 in gas round trip..and it was worth it!! Nice vid, I'd pay $500 for that spot too, lol!
@john23263 He's taking it from the 5th floor of OSB II building. The porch on the 5th floor is for high level NASA people and guest. Its who you know to get up there. He is 3 miles away. Of course there are many other places to watch from at 3 miles but most of the people are employee's and press. I've watched 108 launches from 3 miles and never taken a video. Lots of pictures though.
Hi just curious how you were able to get so close? I saw this launch from NASA Causeway 6.5 and that was as close as I could get. Are you part of the press or know an astronaut? Especially because you are 5 stories up which is perfect for taking a video. Lucky you!
I was in Titusville. Y'all have my sincere envy for being SO much closer to the Pad.
Thanks for sharing.
