The movie "The Exorcist came" later. Never mind about that. This is Mike Oldfield (and his friends) at his best. Did u know that Mike Oldfield recorded this album all on his own? He plays every instrument on the LP. And he was only 20 yrs old at the time. Richard Branson gave him his first big break. A Classic Album; One of a Kind! Thanks Mike.

I only realised this week that Richard Branson is in deep debt with Mike Oldfield re. launching his own record label (Virgin) and all the other affiliate brands (Virgin, Virgin Atlantic etc. etc.). For a mere Dutch woman this seems too much to behold, if it weren't for the fact that us Dutchies frequently squashed the Brits in ancient times. On the other hand, I am a true follower of lots of things British (after Mike Oldfield, I became a fan of Japan, another Virgin band.)

I knew about Tubular Bells from working at a local radio station in 1973. The Exorcist actually doesn't even feature that much of the composition. But the combined PR campaign certainly turned a lot of people on to Mike Oldfield who wouldn't have otherwise heard of him.

Actually, Mike was only 19 years old when he recorded Tubular Bells. It was the very first album that Virgin Records ever produced.
