Timor-Leste birth-friendly facilities

This video explores the "Birth Friendly Facilities" in Timor-Leste. In partnership with the Timorese Ministry of Health, HAI and USAID, the facilities were developed to provide a safe place for mothers to give birth, thus reducing risk for infant and maternal mortality. Timor-Leste has one of the highest rates of maternal mortality in the world.

This video is played in communities and followed by a facilitated discussion to help women and their families better understand the importance of having a skilled birth attendant present at delivery.
