Swimming dragon and eight brocades basics. These basics introduce students into what is qigong about...

Basic qigong should be about using the mind, body and energy together for total body usage, it should cover stretching and engaging muslces and tendons (basic strength and connected softness). I tell my students think of it as,`get to know your body qigong` then later we can explore the more esoteric ideas...

I hope all enjoy objectively.

  • Why not make a video explaining the most important thing in qigong exercises which is the breathing, coordinated with mind exercises to bring in clear blockages or store or circulate the chi combined with perineum control also!

  • Thanks for the comment. I am working on such a vid, but meantime please look to a bagua vid I posted about such ideas. more to come....

  • What is the difference between this and yoga?

  • Yoga does active stretching and energy work, but just in a more passive way than qigong for martial arts. Actually its called Daoyin which translates to chinese yoga... Internal dynamics and Chan Si Jing (silk reeling energy) more used for martial awareness and applications... I hope this helps some, it can actually take alot to explain deeply for detailed why's...

  • Hi i loved your video, as I just did a weekend of medicinal Qui Gong at Lendrick lodge in scotland, and want to learn more.Your wee dog is so sweet i just loved seing him too. Ive a wee dog also. Margaret.

  • The dog is funny jumping on his leg

  • I hope the students don't mind the dog.

All the jumps between movements in the vid make it useless to me. What is the goal of this one?

  • that dog is rather fascinated by it

  • i hear that qigong is also for healing ?

  • qigong

  • Thanks Mike, great work :-)

  • Nice video. Looking forward to more. Hope you didn't kill the dog. PS What breed is he?
