"For the love of God" (Steve Vai) - by Antonios Zampelis

This is a closeup of the fingering for the basic melody of "For the love of God". It is in E aeolian and not a difficult piece to play, but one should be very aware of the bends, the song is full of them.

The guitar is my trusty Hello Kitty with an EMG 85 humbucker run through a PODXT (with the "For the love of god" sound patch!) and recorded in Garageband before it was overdubbed. What you hear is what you see though, the song was recorded in one take so what you hear is the live recording with some mastering. Please excuse a couple of mistakes.

i realize I may not play it exactly like Vai (hell, I CANNOT play like Vai :D) but it is the way i like it to be played...
