A short video I made of my former job as the Reading Program Manager of the Sa Aklat Sisikat Foundation (SAS) :)
The SAS program is a 31-day reading program where each section of Grade 4 students from the selected public schools are given a set of 60 storybooks to read. Each time a student finishes reading a book, he/she notes down his thoughts in his Reading Passport, colors the Reading Chart in the classroom which tracks how many books he/she has written, then takes a feather and pins it in the Ibong Adarna (mythical bird)... the more books the children read, the more feathers the bird gets, and by the end of the program - the mythical bird is a symbol of how the students dreams can take FLIGHT.
This particular reading program was sponsored by Convergys Philippines. I miss my old job sometimes... but I'm quite happy with my new job as well! This is how I feel at the moment - grateful - for all that we've accomplished - and excited about how much more of an impact we can make in the future...! WATCH OUT!
