I Am Gallagher: The Leo and Ron Gallagher Story

In the early nineties, Leo Gallagher was on top of the world, an internationally recognized comedian with an ever expanding fan base. At the same time his brother, Ron Gallagher, was unemployed and down on his luck. The two brothers came to an arrangement. Ron would begin performing Leo's routine, adopting Leo's onstage persona as his own. The brothers bore an uncanny resemblance to each other. Ron would work the small clubs and out-of-the-way venues that Leo was too big and too busy to perform at, and he could keep the money he made. It was like having a Gallagher show, but cheaper. Leo had only one condition. Ron must make it clear that he was not Leo and in no way lead the venue, promoters, or comedy patrons into thinking they were seeing the original Gallagher. The attention and adulation were too much for Ron and the distinction between himself and his brother became increasingly hazy. Leo took notice and begged him to stop the act. Ron refused. Leo hired a lawyer. In the ensuing legal struggle, the Gallagher family sided with Ron, saying this was the only thing he had ever been successful at. In the end Leo won in court, but he lost the love of his family and his brother. This is a trailer for the forthcoming film that tells their story, the complete saga of Gallagher and Gallagher Two: Leo and Ron.

@LaughterIsDeadly The trouble that has plagued this project from the very beginning is funding. This trailer is actually a sort of demo trailer that the producers have been using to shop around the movie to the studios in an effort to raise money to complete the project.

I saw a "Gallagher" in Melbourne, Florida on 1/22/2012. I'm still not sure which Gallagher it was.

@deadendkid1968 I never had the chance to meet Ron but I met Leo several times and he seemed really cool but then again I was 12. hahaha! I've always heard he was kind of a dick.

Met them both...Ron actually confronted me for not laughing....he only told jokes Id heard in the 80s from his brother...and Leo was kind-of a dick for no reason...I want the Huge Big-Wheel...I wonder if he will sell it?
