why are all the old shows like this better than the new shows today?
-
I watched the "In Search Of" show when I was a kid and it was intriguing... the topics they would explore. Did I believe everything they did? maybe not always, but it sure was fun to think about. thnks for doing this Aspergian!

@Recon1867 Just like music isn't it? Music today sucks too.

When I was a kid I had 3 channels with hundreds of great programs like "In Search Of" to watch.
Nowadays, I have hundreds of channels with few (if any) great programs and no "In Search Of!"

It's a downright shame that we don't have shows like this on TV anymore...
We have "Jackass" instead.

Wow, to hear that intro music again after all these years. Brings back many memories..as well as the shows themselves. Thanks for uploading, Aspergian! You're what makes YouTube worth its existence!

@oatstao yeah, i saw a doc on the making of, and to drive home the etherial effect, the lighting and color saturation was kept as dramatic effect. but remember, these were shot with the idea that they would be viewed on crts

It's too bad, Hans was kind of a schill. That kid he brought in for the sequence at the Port Clyde "fishing village" was a paid actor from New York . Notice how you don't see his family or anything. Just him, all primmed and procured for the track meet -aka- appearance on TV. And the two ladies in the next part, DEFINITE actors. Sad to see this in retrospect. Hans, you dirty-two-timer you! playing your little games while alive. There is just no substance in this episode.

Was this whole series filmed in 16mm? Or was the pan and scan degrading to the 35mm? I always thought the series was soo dark..too much black saturation, but maybe that's for effect? One of the great TV series..thanks for sharing clear episodes.
In Search Of..(1976-82,1995) great series that delved into the world in which we live in denial of and what DVD distributor released this series?

There is no DVD distributor. Universal Studios has the rights to this television series, yet they have refused to budge on making it officially available on DVD.
