  • there's one person who doesn't like real fire trucks

  • Wish they still made fire trucks that sound like this

  • Luckily we still have two Detroit's in our fleet. The day those go is going to suck. Fire trucks are going downhill more and more. About the mid 90's is when everything went South. Now we have quiet "environmentally safe" motors in the new rigs, and the new rigs look ugly as hell. Trucks back in the day had character, both with looks and what was under the hood (or cab).

  • Thanks for the ride, guys! I watched with the pop out feature.

I sure miss driving our twin Arrow engines with the 6v92!

    Very nice rig!

It was a good travel in G.Earth ;)

  • @15rricci No worries. I liked the Mack's of the 70's too! I like anything with a nice loud screamin' Detroit in it, as long as it looks halfway decent.

  • As far as Im concerned, Detroits are about the best engines available to the fire service. We have an engine with an 8V92TA Silver and it hauls! Tranny in HT-741. I wouldnt want any other engine other than a detroit if it was up to me.

  • I love the noise that a real diesel makes! When we had a housefire nothing is more comforting than hearing (at the time) 4 DD's coming your way! We heard them right after the 911 call and man was that a nice sound hearing them LEAVE the firehouse! Now only 2 remain but they are runnin strong!

  • One person's like the Cummins ISB.

  • @BlueOysterCult87 70's macks had what other rigs did'nt BALLS! no homo. but its true.

  • @CTFD13 1250

  • @117ladder what size pump? our 89 pierce arrow has a 1500 GPM pump on it, and hauls major ass when you floor it.
