Celebrities Jennie Garth, Marie Osmond, US Olympic Athletes and Real Women Team Up with The American Heart Associations Go Red For Women Movement to Help Women Fight Heart Disease

Data show that one woman dies almost every minute from cardiovascular disease. The American Heart Associations Go Red For Women® is dedicated to helping women fight heart disease, the number 1 killer of women age 20 and over. In fact, cardiovascular disease kills more than 450,000 women a year, more than the next five causes of death combined, including cancer. Go Red For Women is a movement dedicated to helping women turn simple choices, like taking the steps instead of the elevator or choosing baked instead of fried, into life-saving actions.
The new Go Red For Women message is Speak Up. Among the movement's top priorities is to raise awareness of the impact of heart disease on women by encouraging people to speak up and spread the word to friends, family and community members about how to make the right choices every day. The idea is that you can truly save lives with the power of your very own voice.

To help accomplish that, Go Red For Women has developed public service announcements featuring actress and Go Red For Women spokesperson, Jennie Garth. Jennie Garth joined the Go Red For Women movement because she can speak from the heart about her own familys experience with cardiovascular disease. She Goes Red for her father whom she lost to cardiovascular disease.
