Holly Yarbrough is the daughter of Glenn Yarbrough, former lead singer of The Limeliters. Best known for his hit "Baby, The Rain Must Fall", Glenn also had a series of hugely successful solo albums. Proving that the apple indeed falls close to the tree, Holly Yarbrough has joined her father on two albums. "Family Portrait" and "Annie, Get Your Gun" by Glenn and Holly are fast becoming collector's items. Holly has studied at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Bard College and the Nashville Jazz Workshop. Holly's beautiful voice and graceful song styling suggest that she is destined to extend the Yarbrough legacy. The late Fred Rogers of "Mister Rogers Neighborhood" was a very accomplished songwriter and singer, and his songs have been interpreted by Holly in a delightful session of feel-good jazz, all with top quality accompaniment. Holly pays tribute to Fred Rogers in a swinging jazzy fashion with her debut solo CD, "Mister Rogers Swings!" She is accompanied by a cast of Nashville's finest musicians including the late saxophonist Boots Randolph recording some of his last sessions. Also guitarist Richard Smith, trumpeter George Tidwell, Roy Agee on trombone, Stuart Duncan (fiddle) and pianist Lori Mechem & her trio. Rather than being a children's CD, however, this is actually sophisticated bop-oriented jazz for serious listeners.
