Dont forget to realize that with inflation you're losing 3%+ a year and also kwh costs of electricity are going to increase probably a great deal over 30 years. Right now its a better investment buying solar panels for your house than having the money sitting in the bank at 1% return.

solar energy and wind power cost so much money that it takes forever to pay off and before it does. its not worth it. i'd say get water power stuff.

Any power generation has up-front costs. Guaranteed to stay at 97% efficiency for 20 years. They continue to produce @ lower efficiency after that. A chunk of the cost is for the warranted/insured mounting brackets, inverter & installation. If you over-buy on the inverter, you can easily drop in better panels for cheap as they are developed. Break-even is usu. based on today's energy cost. Panels produce most when demand is highest, reducing pressure to build more power plants. DIY? Cheaper!

pay for 25 years of electricity for a 20 year panel guarantee hmm? doesnt seem very profitable unless it last longer than 25yrs
