Holy shit thats bright

im not a real big fan of using LED's for streetlighting....the light output can sometimes dissapoint....and tempature is a very critical factor to control to prevent falliure....as far as LED's i think Traffic lights are their habitat...High Intensity Discharge Lamps are best for Roadway Lighting...thats just my opinion.

@weeardguy don't forget the other HID Lamps....Mercury Vapor and Metal Halide :)
also....currently some LED's have problematic reliability.

@form109 but then again ;) The light-outputting surface of a sodium light (for example) is most of the time still bigger than the light-outputting surface of a LED light... It's not so strange, because the smaller the light source is, the more efficient the reflector can be made.

@weeardguy most LED Streetlights made though use more than one Diode which does help somewhat.

@weeardguy That Pin Point Like Light output can be a problem when it comes to evenly lighting an area.

I love it.
And it looks great too. And just think of the power it would save.

mooi hoor

@form109 The biggest problem I have with LED's is the fact that is mostly a too high intensity point-like lightsource, or just: too much light from a to small package, which makes accidentally looking into them a blinding experience

My fcking eyes !!!!!!!!!

how much for this ???
My god that is one bright light!!!
I wasn't aware that 100w LEDs existed yet. It's like my 3w Maglite Luxeon on steroids. I don't know what your voltage is, but where I live, it's all HPS, MV, and MH running at least 400w@220v. If yours is 100w@110v... that would be a very nice city wide energy savings.
