  • there is truth to be said about doing the test at sea level, inside, with heat, and humidity... that could very easily slow you down.... but also take into consideration we tested at over 6,000 ft and in cold Colorado winter air- that can freeze your lungs just as much as heat and humidity can clog them... just a note of differences

  • his time was 707, not 627 watch the clock

  • @humpboomr19 "IF" you listen to the instructors GIVING the test... @ 45 sec (of the the videos time, NOT the test time) HE states "the test will begin in 3, 2, 1..." AND THEN at the end of the test, the female instructor (that has been testing him the whole time, watching for a pass or fail) @ 7:16 sec; SHE states "6:27" .... and SHE is the one giving the test... and she is watching the stopwatch in her hand that she is testing him with... SO PLEASE stop and count... OR JUST LISTEN.

  • how much do the circular and the chainsaw weigh?

  • @BEGraduate about 20-25 lbs a piece

  • hey everyone, quick question. does a faster cpat time help you get hired in the hiring process? do they look at it and stuff or is it just a pass or fail type deal?

  • @thebigeasy92 it is "officially" a pass or fail test... but a good time helps give you bragging rights

  • @aescalante24 I live in Vancouver BC Canada so I'm not sure what is out your way. trainingdivision . com this site lets you do it online and then you go to Texas for 2 weeks of training.

PS I rocked my CPAT. Wasn't even that out of breath by the end.

  • @sukh44 i'm actually training myself physically tight now to take the CPAT, but what school is best to take the fire science courses? is there one in orange county?

  • @aescalante24 no they don't look at technique just that you follow the rules. I'm doing my CPAT today. First time. Kinda nervous but I'm sure i'll do fine.

  • @kingjeremiah are they testing on technique as well?

  • @TheSamChannel1 Good luck. Also, nobody cares how old you are. Nobody.

  • wow this guy makes it so easy

i'm 15 and want to become a firefighter / paramedic, so i definitely have my work cut out for me when it comes to getting in shape

  • @humpboomr19 There is a 20 second warm-up on the stepper. If the candidate falls off, this time is restarted. When the candidate can adequately maintain his balance for 20 seconds, the official time starts and the speed increases.

  • This guy is a beast

  • That's pretty awesome, thank for posting this-I have never seen one of these. Congratulations, Bill!
