During her incredibly boring set, Bats for lashes' plug gets pulled..possibly the only interesting part to her set, mediocre wannabe bjork, nice voice tho.

Fair enough to say you found it boring...but its more boring to hear the 'wannabe bjork' comment. She is a totally different girl with her own philosophies and directions. I mean, is every rock band just a 'wannabe copy' of Led Zeppelin...no. Its just when an artist moves into territory thats rarely explored by the masses, it is immediately assumed that they're a copy-cat of the others who are also exploring it. Ignorant really.

Of course the lazy eyes would compare her to Bjork simply because of her free spirit on stage and the fashion and artistic elements she also incorporates. BUT Im a huge Bjork fan and also have huge appreciation for BFL's music and I can say I dont see any musical similarities. They both hold a complete different style and can't really fully compare neither to any other artist.

Shes nothing like Bjork. There music is completely different. The one thing these two artist have in common is that they both have total complete artistic control over their own music. I honestly think Radiohead is boring. I love BFL!

Some people must just think that new bands can't work their own standard of music without copying someone.

Björk is an easy comparison... like Radiohead with Muse.

craggydodaggy i totally agree. Her songs are so artistic and isnt really like bjork at all in my opinion. Sure they sound the same as in voice but their songs are of different sound. robelgit, I dont agree with you at all. This is their own style and she once stated that you should never let anyone change your style. There is strong growing fan base for bat for lashes so there are plenty of ppl that love her debut album including me!

Intended or not, there are VERY strong structural resemblances with some of the songs. Rarely explored by the masses? This is pop music. Mediocre? Perhaps. Definitely not matured. With more time, a different producer, and stronger arrangements, the album would be pretty good. Hopefully this will be the case with the new album?
