@parmadillo So where was the outrage from Planned Parenthood and all the other "pro-choice" activists over Kermit Gosnell's baby butchering?
-
@guyrestivo The "pro-choice" movement IS Nazi. They idolize Margaret Sanger.
-
@StoogeWatcher that's not true and you know it! didn't anyone teach you it's bad to lie?

@Metool2 well im not from Texas but i think that made my point:) the numbers are massive (50 million) and my other point was that the so called 1.4% =700000 so thats not a small amount . wasnt questioning your point, was adding some:)

@kahetel13 Recently Planned Parenthood even protested a bill in Texas which would require a sonogram before performing an abortion. In other words, protesting any attempt to acknowledge that the life in question is a human being, with possible beating heart, limbs, etc (depending on state of development). Like I stated earlier, I'm fine with people supporting abortion as long as its early in the stages...

@Metool2 sorry to cut in this one and happened to just glance at this vid; since 1973 and by January 2011, 50 million performed in the US alone. kinda makes that 1.4 % far far fatter than a "red herring" . me? im pro choice in a sense that full knowledge of what you about to do ( snuff a life) has to be in the process but that 50 mil mark makes that 1.4% take on a whole different kettle of fish (lets throw a herring in the kettle too: ). k well im a man what do i know right?:)

@alowlyapprentice I didn't take it as rude, just a difference in how its looked at. Other groups can provide the services, and Planned Parenthoods support of abortion no matter what on the backs of tax payers (many of whom fall on the extreme 'Life at conception' ideal I disagree with), give reason for the defunding. They can seek funding elsewhere, but not on the governments dime (I don't oppose them existing, I just oppose federal funding for it). But both sides have extremists, sadly. @_@
I wonder, how often is a pregnancy really life threatening? How many abortions are performed compared to the birth being carried through safely? I'm reasonable on abortion, take morning after pills, get it taken care of in the first trimester, etc... But what gets me is when people put it off till the child is almost ready, and then kills it because its more convenient. I really question whether anyone who would do that could not be called a murderer or not.

@Metool2 Only 1.4% abortions occur in the last trimester. The whole late-term abortion issue is a red herring. the outrage expressed by some is not justified by the numbers.

@alowlyapprentice Trouble is, what is 1.4%? If you realize the sheer scale of which abortions are performed... In 2005 that would have been 8,482 children killed in late term. But so what? It's just 1.4%. It's a red herring. Not worth getting upset over. What i'd really like to see, like i mentioned, is how many abortions are necessary for mothers survival. Oh, and I wasn't trying to have a rude tone here, I just looked up that info and it backed up your percentage, but the numbers...

@Metool2 I did not think your tone was rude. I hope I was not rude either. If it is the raw numbers you wish to examine then it will come down to a moral or philosophical issue of viability, and actualization of potential. I do not think such subjective things can be codified into law. So I'm for education and prevention.
Abortion aside, this attack on reproductive rights is also an attack on the other services Planned Parenthood and other programs provide.
