Kryptonite's response to the problem was admirabe, they replaced the lock side of hundreds of thousands of units in short order, no charge, NO other manufacturer did the same though industrywide many were using similar type locks. The bottom line is any lock CAN be defeated and for the consumer we saw who stands behind their products, values their customers, and who takes your money and runs. I confidently lock my $3k Ti hybrid with a Kbrand NY fahgeddabout it U and Cobralinks Jr together.

this is the reason i dont use d-locks, i use 2 oxford revolvers :) brilliant locks for expensive bikes, i advise u to use them instead of d-locks people (If u have an expensive bike) i havent had any trouble what so ever with mine few people have tried but never managed to get into it :)

Is that why the UK's sold secure list rates the Oxford Revolver as Silver and the Kryptonite NY "U" as Gold? You're pointing to this video as evidence but at the time this K lock with the round key was sold, Oxford ALSO used the same vulnerable round type lock. Today, current products compared, the K "U" lock is still less defeatable on the street than your armoured cable which requires smaller, more common tools carried by the thief than a stout U lock. Best lock is BOTH together.

Yeah I'm pretty glad I saw this to make sure I get a good lock for my P2. If that gets stolen, I would cry.

They had a recall a while back ago. They use flat keys now.

chill, dickwad. the thieves can pick it, freeze and smash it, lift and haul it, it don't matter. if they want it, they're gonna defeat it. hope they all die a painful death
