  • Joanna Graudan was a wonderful pianist and teacher, inspiring in her aristocratic elegance and Schnabelian (she was his student) phrasing, sound and general outlook on music-making. Really introduced me to how to play Mozart and Schubert, and also to undersetand the genius of Furtwangler

  • Not good sound, but a very nice performance. I haven't heard Graudan in many years.

Also, besides being a great conductor, Mitropoulos was also a very fine pianist. Someday I'm going to find his recording of the Prokofieff 3rd Concerto.

  • Why did you choose this absolutely terrible transfer as your source for this post? There are much better ones.
