Joanna Graudan was a wonderful pianist and teacher, inspiring in her aristocratic elegance and Schnabelian (she was his student) phrasing, sound and general outlook on music-making. Really introduced me to how to play Mozart and Schubert, and also to undersetand the genius of Furtwangler
Not good sound, but a very nice performance. I haven't heard Graudan in many years.
Also, besides being a great conductor, Mitropoulos was also a very fine pianist. Someday I'm going to find his recording of the Prokofieff 3rd Concerto.

Why did you choose this absolutely terrible transfer as your source for this post? There are much better ones.
