The point of what he's saying about not worrying about the Holy Spirit is that by focusing on what gives God glory, THEN the Holy Spirit therefore energizes the process of spiritual growth. It's about focusing on the ultimate goal and purpose of our lives which is giving God GLORY FIRST AND FOREMOST, not the mechanism that is used and given to us by God's grace to ENERGIZE the SPIRITUAL GROWTH process. : )

I don't like what he says: "don't worry about the Holy Spirit" it should have been followed up with a better wording, explanation

Is it not true that the holy spirit guides you, gives you wisdom etc, in order to bring glory to God.
So why is it that we should focus on the glory of God and not get so caught up in the holy spirit. I don't understand how we can focus on the glory of God or use it because it belongs to God. If we saw God's face / glory then we would die
