actually all of u are wrong. if you think about it. he erases half of a dot. therefore making it NOT A DOT you can take this 1 of 2 ways its 6 dots or 4.

i don't know why the hell people are arguing about this, you can't make change the dots...it's not stated in the rules, but that's what makes it a puzzle...an impossible one also

So how in your mind does a dot cease to be a dot, simply because it is broken or part of it is now missing.

Does a person cease to be a person if they are separated from their arm, leg, or finger? (The answer is no for anyone not sure of the answer). Is a dog no longer a dog if it loses a paw? If I take a seat out of your car is it no longer a car? If I tear a phone book in two, is it no longer a phone book? When a child leaves the womb does it's mother cease to be a mother? After all, she is now physically separated from the being that made her a mom in the 1st place.

He didn't CONNECT to dot 4, and there is no rule about erasing either.
You could also simply crack it in two and connect thru it without erasing, and there is no rule that says you can't break a dot either.
The line still isn't interrupted by the dot here. It isn't 2 half circles (as you state) either, as we can all clearly see.
An easier solution though is to solve it in 3D, which is not prohibited either.
