This toy poodle came in for grooming in terrible condition. I consider this neglect and animal abuse. The owner told me she groomed her at home. She had, at some point, shaved the top of her back, but apparently got stuck after that when she realized the hair would not just fall off, especially where it was tightly matted and wrapped all around her legs, feet and face. Her legs were matted to her body in such a way that she could not have full range of motion to move without causing pain where the hair pulled on the skin.

Her hair was also damp because the mats could not get dry all the way, and she smelled like a dead animal. I don't know how the owners could stand the smell. It's sad that this dog had to live like this.

She was very good for her whole groom, except cleaning her ears and clipping her nails, when she tried to bite me, but she's forgiven for that! Sweet dog under all that filth.

Poodles should be groomed every four to six weeks. The most you should go is eight weeks, if you do some upkeep at home. I brush and comb my standard poodle every other day to keep her coat in good condition.

  • @babygirl91580 Its not her fault but i can tell you that when they are that matted you have to pull on it a bit.

  • WTF stop pulling the mats dont you hear her crying WTF WTF WTF

  • as the comment below said, you could've helped more by not pulling on the matts... geez! OUCH. Be more gentle next time ya?

  • I know the groomer is trying to help this dog but why does she have to keep pulling the mats to show how bad it is ?? I felt like pulling the groomer across the room by her hair !!! Gentle, gentle, gentle !!!

  • aww. poor baby. i'm so glad that you were helping her. She deserved that and so much more.

  • I have three toy poodles and wow I cant believe that poor dog was aloud to get that bad I shave mine at home nails and ears too when you got some of the hair on her face it looked like she has a third leg attached to her neck absolutely ridicules did you call animal control because I would have

  • Not only is she all matted, she seemed to be obese as well. I feel so bad for her... :(

  • I hope the owner of that dog reads these comments. This is disgusting. You should not get a poodle if you're not willing to look after it properly. How can you let it get to this point before you realise its serious? Give your dog to someone who will bloody look after it.

  • poor dog ... im surprised that the dog has his/her owner!!!
