oly shit you guy hand plant all your leeks?? where abouts Is Your Farm located? My family has owns a 400 acre vegtable fruit cattle and hay Farm on the southern tip Of Vancouver Island In British Colmbia Canada. We're Ten minutes From The city Of Victoria!

@kevinM2123 Yes that's right. All our leeks are still planted by hand. We find it is easier to manage than having a planting machine. For example this week we planted around 600,000 plants in 6 hours with about 50 people. A 6 row machine would take well over 30 hours to do the same job. This makes it difficult for us to manage when you are trying to plant the crop before the next rain event. Our advantage is that we have a large team working for us which is not always the case with most farms.

@kevinM2123 Our farm is 50km south east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Another extraordinary video. One doubt, why are plants watered soon after plantation? And why do you use the tractor with the trailed sprayer instead of just the irrigation system?

@mxfs We use the water trailer to deliver a cup full of water to each plant. This initial watering ensures each plant has a good amount of moisture around the roots and also assists by washing soil into the root base. After this initial watering the overhead irrigation is then sufficient to keep the crop growing.
