  • Can a potential client send pictures along with measurements for an estimate?

  • I'm making a very complicated piece requiring a four piece mold that has to be a tiny bit flexible. It has threading and it has to be very accurate for an air tight seal. Also I need the plastic to be very strong and transparent. What would be the best chemicals to use for the mold, spray, and plastic? Please message this account back with your recommendations.

  • @dgwbuildwright i used to be a race car manufacturing technician. I used standard my whole life until that point and the metric system is drastically easier to work with. I wish we (US) would switch. too late i suppose

  • the metric system is easier to work with. end of argument. i have been a toolmaker for 38 years i served my apprenticeship using imperial . its time consuming. if i need a 10mm drill thats what i need. no conversion required. what size is a 49/64th drlll, or a letter f drill or a number 12 drill, yea ! metric sure is easier.

  • IT'S OVER 9-is shot-

  • If you learn to think and calculate in base-twelve, inches are more accurate and make more sense than cm/mm. Your mind is more powerful than any computer, if you learn how to access it.

  • Most publications from the US don't use both. And most of our gauges can't handle fractions. I spend lots of time converting fraction to decimal / metric which could be equal to millions of dollars in wasted time.

  • We can use both. The Imperial system is actually more accurate than the metric system in some respects, since it can use fractional measurements, such as 2/3 rather than 0.67, or is that 0.66667, or is that .66666666666667?

The Imperial system is base-twelve, which is fundamentally more advanced than metric base-ten. The rest of the world may go metric, but the U.S. is bilingual in measuring, we use both. Long live our dual measuring systems!
