  • CTD 4 wisdom that comes from age and experience thereby proving--albeit with some delay-- that the doubts many had about his fitness for the job were actually spot on. Moreover, your team has managed to erase all the strides you made to try to vanquish once and for all time the widely held belief that at the end of the day, the Red Sox are just plain no good. Welcome back to square one. Tip: Encourage your pals to acknowledge that yes, it is as bad as it seems as prelim to beginning a recovery.

  • @cremeofthereich CTD 3 Your clubhouse is in total disaray. Your team is well aware of the fact that there are only two players who do not have to hang their heads in shame and that they have caused the departure of a man who should be beloved in Boston for his efforts on behalf of your city. Your general manager, ALREADY an embarrasment for having been duped by the arch enemy, appears to be safe from his deserved fate but nevertheless has demonstrated that there is NO substitution for the CTD

  • CTD lies in the fact that fans in three cities will always share a kinship in the fact that each of them played their part in bitch slapping you. Your entire brand is diminished because in the space of one month, you have become a laughing stock. Your latest stumble, the scapegoating of one of the most respected managers in baseball. further seals your fate as a franchise in the midst of the most spectacular fall from grace in baseball history other than the Black Sox. CTD

  • "This collapse....does not square that whole karma thing." Feel better spouting those empty words? That you would even think Yankee fans would go there just shows that for you and your provincial little cohorts, it's all about Yanks vs. you. Specific to your claim, you had a four game win streak at THE most critical time in a playoff and all credit goes to you. But here you have a month long choke and a spectacular three team gang up that was crafted for the ages. So here, your problem CTD

  • So, the Yankees helping in the spoiling of the Red Sox this season doesn't amount to that loss? I'm pretty sure it's payback, especially when it seems as soon as they heard the Red Sox lost Wednesday night, they wanted to lose just to screw the Sox over. :D

  • Also, I feel terribly bad for pedroia, ellsbury and gonzalez, who each had career years, but nothing to show for it...They certainly did their part.

  • Untimely injuries and a lack of starting pitching depth no doubt caused the collapse. However i think the last game came down to bad base running, the sox should have had at least a 2 or 3 run lead going into the bottom of the ninth, but they blew it with bad base running. Also, some people are blaming papelbon for the game, which is unfair. He did a hell of a job all season, and has been overused lately, you can't expect perfection every time.

  • Sorry Paulie. I agree, you gotta pitch a lot better than the Sox did. I mean these numbers right here in the month of September tell all:

    Josh Beckett: 1-2 5.48 ERA

    Jon Lester: 1-3 5.96 ERA

Plus like you said guys like Lackey and Wakefield were't helping the Red Sox cause either. Let me ask you this; if the Sox would of made it do you think they would of made it past the Tigers? Because I really don't think they would of.
