All the cut scenes from NCS/Masaya's Ranma 1/2 (1990) for the PC-Engine. The story follows generally the same arc as the first season of the TV show, with new characters being introduced each level. The gameplay was pretty sad, but the cut scenes were fantastic, almost always taking up most of the screen with very little loading. This game got me into the series.

Part 1 of 3.

  • pc-engine? isn't that the old video game which has one controller?

  • Yeah, the PCE/TG16 only had one controller port. You had to get the TurboTap accessory to play more than one player at a time. I guess it's old now, the system came out in 1987.

  • is this pc game? donde lo puedo download

  • It's on the PC-Engine, which is the Japanese version of the TurboGrafx-16.

  • We need a new Ranma game, as well as a new Bastard!! game, a new Gatchaman and a new Slayers game

  • I sure wish after Miss.Rumiko Takahashi would give Ranma 1/2 and InuYasha a better ending in the anime(At least) Cause the manga's wasn't the best...

  • @Devilbat what about yu yu hakusho?

  • i could make a better game for the ranma 1/2 series better then what came before

  • @killernat Well duuuhhh She NEVER finished the anime!!

  • @PInkbun17 the ranma 1/2 ending was soo disapointing in the anime

  • all for PSX 3!!!

  • From what I understand he's the final end of level boss in the game. Due to his notorious lack of screentime in the manga, any characterization anyone could apply to him would be guesswork.

Anyways, I don't think video games are considered canonical. This game is clearly loosely based on events from the manga and anime. It's a video game adaptation.

  • That just begs the question: is Shampoo's dad in the game proper (as opposed to only in that one frame of intro) and does he have any relevance to the events at all? He didn't in the original manga, at least -- just sat there and got surprised by his daughter's new curse.

As for GoldenEye, that's comparing a game with a single source. This game has two: the manga and the anime, and the problem is in the video description claiming it's based on the anime.

My longest comment so far, people!

  • Most video games even when based of movies or TV shows tend to take liberties with the events. It's done purely for gaming purposes. GoldenEye on N64 had additional levels not seen in the movie in which 007 infiltrates the GoldenEye control center and also a USSR missile silo where the GoldenEye satellite is launched. They also had 007 present at the control center when the GoldenEye satellite fired at the base. In the film he was at MI6 headquarters at the time.

  • Well, I found the scene. Seaon 2, episode 8. The duel scene starts at around 14 minutes in, and there's a noodle stall that could be the same as in the manga, but whoever's manning it is hidden by the customers and cannot be heard. The manga had an overhead shot that showed Shampoo's dad in the stall quite clearly. I can check for a "Shampoo getting cursed" scene later but for now, something's up.
