Clean up mold with H2O2, and remove your valuables before you report it to the 'authorities' or you will lose it. They will take it, clean it, and tell you they destroyed it.

@JadyLester I just bought a house and FHA reported there was a Black spot on the ceiling in the coal room and it was mold . The guy who I hired doubted it was mold but treated it as it was. This is what was done.
Area was cleaned and scrubbed with Fosters 40-80 Disinfectant.
After cleaning with anti-fungal cleaner, the area in question was then
encapsulated with an anti-mildew based white paint.

since mold likes to grow where it's damp.
a first step might be to find the money to fix or replace the leaky roof.

lol i had this cup with juice in it in my room and it grew blackmold it was scary i threw it out then threw the garbage bag out

It's great how every source that seems so concerned with black mold exposure won't give me information on getting rid of it without "Clicking Here!" or sending an email.
