Hang with an Orang

Hiking up through Borneo
Near a quiet place I know
An orangutan was just kicking back

One hairy hand behind his head
Chewing on an afternoon snack
I've often said that I have normal human friends
But I'd like to hang with you guys instead
Now this might seem absurd but when I spoke I think he heard and then he talked to me

The voice thing did amaze me
So to prove I wasn't crazy
I propped my hand and came on my knee
But it wasn't real consoling cuz the whole time we were rolling all the ape could say was

As I packed my things to leave my orange friend he grabbed my sleave and whistled out to some of his chumms
By the time they grabbed their mates it was like planet of the apes and they were shouting at the top of their lungs
